Business + Life Update

I’m taking on a new title: WORKING MOM!

As all you moms know, with this new chapter comes a lot of life adjustments. So naturally, I need to make a few adjustments to my business as well.

I know you all are DYING to see and hear about my baby too. . . so I promise to give the people what they want ;)

But first

Lets get to it real quick and chat about the updates

My Schedule:

I will be working behind the chair Wednesday and Thursday + I’ll be scaling back to ONE Saturday a month instead of two.

But don’t fret! I’m excited to share that I have expanded my own little team, and all of these days I will be working with CoStylists and double booking. So I will have about the same amount of spots available!

That being said, I only have so much time - so it will be important, now more than ever, to PRE BOOK your appointments to secure your spot! In addition, please plan ahead, set appointment reminders, and show up on time! Keep in mind that if you can’t come to your prescheduled appointment it might take time to find you a new spot!

CoStylists:

Ellie + Christina

Ellie & Christina

Ellie will be with me on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and Christina will be working with me on Saturdays. Both ladies are so sweet and talented! They have worked so hard at Jess Salon on their own clients, and with my coworkers and clients as well.

They will be at your appointments to apply color, shampoo, add finishing touches, and streamline the entire process. This will also help improve timing, so you can use that extra time to enjoy a bit more time for yourself, or get back to your family sooner!

You all know how much I love chatting during your appointments, so I’m very excited for the fun dynamic that these girls will be adding!

Pricing:

As most of you know, I’ve been doing hair for about 7 years now, and I’ve worked so hard to build value in every aspect of your appointments with me.

The Salon had updated pricing back in June, but I care A LOT, and really wanted to make sure that I felt my pricing reflected my time and expertise.

Ive continued my education to keep up on trends and new techniques, and continued to pay close attention to making you all FEEL how much I truly care about you! So given these investments, along with becoming a mom, my time and expertise have become even more valuable. In order to keep working, take time away from my family, and keep my quality business standards with the rest of JESS SALON, it is time for a price increase.

Many of you have voiced how much you value my work, and a few of you have said you’d pay double for my quality! While your kind words and validation mean the world to me, I understand everyone’s budgets and priorities are different.

So if you have ANY questions or concerns about what this new pricing may look like for you, please feel free to reach out for an updated quote. And if it doesn’t end up working for your personal budget and priorities, I completely understand. I’ll be sad to see you go, but wish you the best in finding another amazing stylist!

Baby:

If you’ve made it this far, I know you’re truly “my people”! After all our time together at the salon, I know you’re totally invested.. plus, who doesn’t want to see an adorable baby!

And if you don’t follow me on instagram, then here’s an introduction!

Holden

Matthew Lucas

was born October 23rd at 7:21am after a speedy labor through the night. Matthew and I fell in love with him immediately. From day one he has been so alert and aware of everything, and he definitely has LOTS of opinions! I think we have a smart one on our hands!

The first month of his life was pretty rough for Holden and mom. He struggled with feeding from the get go, and lost enough weight that the hospital recommended we postpone his circumcision (it can make babies slow down on eating for a bit). At home he continued to lose weight and we both shed a few tears over mealtime struggles.

Turned out that he had a tongue and lip tie, which affect EVERYTHING in his poor title body! They cause the issues with latching and feeding, which caused him to tense up, and also lead to horrible gas issues (making him even more tense). So for the first three weeks of his life, he had his tongue tie cut, then his circumcision, followed by his lip tie being cut, all while dealing with horrible gas, and lots of baby chiropractor visits (baby chiro is LIFE SAVING). But every week there was something causing him pain. It really did a number on me too!

So it’s safe to say life was pretty tough for all of us! But by the fourth week, things all started to normalize more. He really is such a cute and sweet baby, and it’s so true when people say these little humans become your whole world. I’m so excited to be able to share and connect with you all on another level, and chat about the whirlwind of motherhood. Stay tuned!

Lastly,

THANK YOU!

From the bottom of my heart for supporting not only my business, but me personally. So many of you have expressed so much love throughout my pregnancy, and it really made me feel like you all are more than just my customers. I’m so grateful that you all continue to choose me to not only fix you up and make you feel beautiful, but to spend your time with me as well. After all, time is precious - so thanks for sharing some with me.

XOXO,

Taylor
