maternity favorites
Part 1
I’m back for round two! Now that I’ve gone through a whole pregnancy, and am currently surviving life with a toddler, I feel like I can finally be a part of a perpetual conversation for a lot of women and moms. MOTHERHOOD.
I felt like, (and sometimes still do) I was always scouring the internet for the best {insert baby item} or a product that would solve a specific problem for pregnancy or babies. It feels never-ending! And honestly, we all know pregnancy is not always glowing and happy, so finding things that were comfortable but still felt like ME - were a must!
So after a few requests, I thought I’d share a few of
my must haves!
Let’s start with maternity/ postpartum clothes! Im going to be straight with you all… we are all friends here right?
So as friends, we can all speak openly about the fact that pregnancy makes you feel like a literal OVEN. At least for me… I get SO HOT, and honestly pretty sweaty. (Hello Arizona) so THESE UNDERSHORTS are an absolute staple for me! If you buy one thing from this post, I hope its this. The simplest and coolest thing to wear during pregnancy for me is flowy dresses and skirts! I have many of these shorts to wear under everything everyday! Bonus points, they also help with thigh chafing, and smooth everything out over your tummy and thighs!
As far as clothes, I like to buy cheap amazon dresses, because I tend to get bleach splatters on my belly! (Hairstylist problems). And I’ve also been loving these old navy bodysuits. Imagine your favorite pair of comfy leggings, but on your whole body! I also love the free people midi skirts with a baby bump, and then you can add a button down top after baby for easy nursing! Also totally cute with a graphic tee! And those graphic tees with bike shorts are also a staple if you’re pregnant in hotter months! LINKED all those things here! P.S. Abercrombie has THE best graphic tees in my opinion! SO soft and high quality.
Last but not least,
Sleep essentials
I’ve had a much harder time sleeping this pregnancy. My hips, lower back, and groin + pelvic muscles were in so much pain at night! With Holden, I bought the typical “noodle” style pillow and hated it! I switch sides while sleeping, and just felt like it was in the way and I was tangled up! So this time I found the PERFECT combo of two pillow styles!
This adjustable side sleeper pillow is the perfect amount of support, but you can still move around! This helped my back and belly, but my hips were still in so much pain, so I bought this memory foam pillow pad and its been a GAME CHANGER!
I also plan on bringing the pad pillow to the hospital because those beds are NOT soft on all the tender spots. IYKYK!
Since there’s still so much to talk about,
Stay tuned
For Part 2 of this blog where I will go over baby items that I’ve scoured for + that have worked well for us!
