Holiday Gift Guide
For all the women in your life!
When I had asked on Instagram who you all had a hard time shopping for, most of you listed your mother-in-law, sisters, coworkers, sister-in-law, or friends. So I came up with a list of trusted items that are sure to be a nice classic gift, and wont disappoint!
In my opinion, a good gift is often something nice, that we wouldn’t necessarily buy for ourselves. Maybe because its a little spendy, or its just not something absolutely needed in everyday life. I know for me personally, those are my favorite gifts! So let me breakdown this list, and tell you exactly why these items made the cut!
You’ll notice that there are a few body products by Necessaire. I started with this lotion, and I’m hooked! They are a clean beauty brand that I have recently discovered, and I’m loving! I was on the hunt for a lotion that was “clean” and non-toxic. I read that our skin is the largest organ on our body, so if your lotion doesn’t have the best ingredients, those chemicals are directly absorbing into your body! I also love that this lotion has a fragrance free option, so the smells don’t interfere with my perfume. It’s extremely hydrating, melts into your skin, and absorbs completely, so there’s no greasy feeling! It truly is a great gift, and while you’re at it, grab one for yourself too! I have also linked this gift set, and this hand cream, that would make good gift options as well. I’m dying to try their luxurious body wash too! And just a side note, I like purchasing these types of things at Sephora when trying something new, because they let you return it if you end up deciding its not for you! So all my links will take you there!
Next up, we have this Dior Lip glow. Now I know what you’re thinking… Why would I get someone (or myself) DIOR LIP BALM? That was was my first reaction too, UNTIL I tried it. Then all judgements went out the window, and I bought two more colors, because…
It’’s that good!
It’s not only extremely hydrating, because of its smooth and buttery chapstick feel, but it has a surprisingly good amount of color for a balm! I personally don’t reach for lipstick because it often feels dry, but this way I feel like I have the best of both! I own the Mahogany and Beige colors, but I could see myself adding a few more shades in the spring and summer!
Next up we have a Dutch oven. This one is a very reasonable price, and Magnolia has never let me down with kitchen items before! A Dutch oven is a classic kitchen item, that a lot people have (or should), that may not get the recognition it deserves! I’m sure grandma would have a lot to say about it!
but…
I think it could make a very thoughtful gift, If you combined it with a recipe card or two! Now I’m no cook by any means, but I personally use my Dutch oven for bread! I have a VERY simple, fool-proof recipe that anyone can do! If this gift sounds perfect for someone in your life, and you want to get a Dutch oven, I may be willing to share my bread recipe with you! ;)
Another small item, (that could easily be combined with the hand cream or lip balm) is a beautiful pair of hoops! A small pair of hoops is a jewelry staple in my opinion! Especially if you spring for a nicer metal. I love these Madewell Hoops because they are a part of their “Demi-fine metal” collection. They are 14k gold! (Or sterling silver). I love buying jewelry from Madewell, Because the quality has always been amazing! Again, a nice pair of earrings is a simple luxury that we may not always spring for ourselves! Which makes it another classic gift. I also love this pair as well!
Last but not least, we have two cozy, more “splurge” items for someone you’re really wanting to wow. These Ugg Slippers, were a gifted to all of us at Jess salon by our boss a couple years ago, and I honestly didn’t even know what I was missing without them! I can tell you that all of us STILL wear them all the time (and show up twinning) because they are just so nice! It’s kind of a cross between a slipper and a shoe, so they still can be worn out too! And not to mention the fact that Uggs have made a major comeback and are extremely popular this year! So you’ll definitely impress someone who keeps up with the trends with this gift! The last item is this half-zip pullover. I noticed this style has been very popular since last fall, and seems to be sticking around! When styled right, it can actually look very chic in a “laid back” sort of way. I like that it can be dressed up or down, while remaining comfy and cozy!
Gift-giving can definitely be an art, and I truly think you can’t go wrong with any of these items! I really try my best to shop intentionally for people ( I cringe at thought of giving a wasted or useless gift), so I love sharing the WHY behind some thoughtful gifts!
